Book Review of: SOAR: Build Your Vision from the Ground Up by TD Jakes

My Personal Book Review of: SOAR: Build Your Vision from the Ground Up by TD Jakes

The book was released in 2018, but is very relevant and encouraging today as then.

The thought of your 9-to-5 supplying all your financial needs is a fantasy when you look at the reality of today’s society.

Soar reminds me to expand my creativity and ask God for what other resources can provide income for my family and to help serve

others around me.

Soar talks to people of faith, entrepreneurship, inventors, dreamers, creators, artists, history lovers, etc.

The mixture of biblical examples, stories of  inventors like the Wright Brothers, and TD Jakes' life growing up make this book a must

read.

I love chapter 3. dedicated to women entrepreneurs, including Jake’s mother and her work ethic in being an entrepreneur.

How that affected Jakes life and was an example for him for the future.

There’s also a breakdown of statistics, eras of society and trends that created opportunities in business

and technology we see today. TD Jakes also shares aspects you need to consider in starting a  business.

About the Author

As you read SOAR, you are taken through 12 chapters inspiring you on how to build up your vision of a business.

I stated before this book is for people of faith and entrepreneurship. The mixture may be comforting in some parts

of the book you read and confessing in others. You may be tempting to skip parts that are foreign to you.

If you find yourself doing that, relax, that is a glossary of definitions in the back of the book.

If you haven’t brought the book already, I suggest you do if faith and entrepreneurship is a part of who you are.

I wanted to end this review by sharing a section of the book that I know spoke to me and maybe will speak to you as well. It is from

Chapter 12.

Excuse Your Excuses

Whether you are 16 or 60 years old, no matter where you are in your season of life, you are uniquely equipped

to bring your entrepreneurial vision to life, to grow it into a thriving success, and to leave a legacy of wisdom, wealth, and worth to those behind you.

Whether you are a millennial just starting out and, like my son entering the music industry, want to be taken seriously,

or whether you’re a retired baby boomer wondering if you should dare to start a new venture at this age and stage,

you have what it takes to SOAR. it’s time to excuse your excuses and make some decisions that can change the rest of your life

and change the impact your business can have on your family for generations to come.

…do not be afraid to redefine yourself, reinvent your career and redistribute the responsibilities in your life.

I could share so much more about this great book, but you have to get a copy and read it, study it, soak it up for yourself.
